The Development Zone stands in Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou hydrographic network region, where the rivers are densely distributed and the loquats are interplanted together with mulberry trees on a large scale with many distinctive features. There are provincial-level Chaoshan Scenic Area and abundant wetland resources in the southwest of the peripheral area, and large-scaled mass land for loquat gardens that are planned along the west side of No. 09 Provincial Highway. Thus, people always say there is a “West Pacific” with fine & pleasant environment, where abundant ecological resources, modest natural landscape and profound cultural accumulation are in existence. The “West Pacific” Region covers a gross area of over 1,900mu (Chinese acre), of which 380mu is water surface area. Limpid and sparkling water surface, bulrush swaying in the wind, together with the poetic imagery full of lightly elegance & rustic charm, make people reluctant to leave. The ecological environment is advantaged.
Development and Reform Commission of Zhejiang Province gave a written reply for <Ecologization Construction & Reconstruction Programming and Executive Plan for Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Zone > in September, 2008, with the consent of the Environmental Protection Agency. According to the general programming goal in the < Programming >, concept of recycling economic, theory of industrial ecology and requirements for clean production will be used as the direction in Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Zone. Relying on the fine ecological environment and economy foundation in the Qianjiang Economic Development Zone, it will be built into an ecological industrial development zone with considerable scale economy, outstanding brand advantages, obvious industry features, clear functional sub-area, rational industry distribution, perfect infrastructure, suitable service system and elegant natural environment. The Development Zone will be finally developed an ecological industrial model zone characterize “industry intergrowth, substance circulation” in China.
Now, the Development Zone has passed the certification of ISO9000 (Quality Management System) and ISO14000 (Environmental Management System) successfully.
